The Ohio to Erie Trail (OTET) connects the Ohio River to Lake Erie over a series of connected rail and canal trails. The route is primarily flat and rolls through four major cities (Cleveland, Akron, Columbus and Cincinnati) and a myriad of small towns and communities.

Although it’s typically ridden northbound from the Ohio River to Lake Erie, hence the name OTET, we are riding the trail in reverse (EtOH) Erie to the Ohio River with our beer brewing, bike loving, gardening friends Dan and Christie. For them, this will be their first extended, self supported bike tour.
Dan and Christie traveled to Salida, Colorado when we toured the Great Divide and provided us a much needed rest from the trail. They met us on a descent just outside of Salida with a cold brew and big smiles.

Our beer brewing friends who also happen to be scientists have cooked up something special for the EtOH (which is the chemical compound for alcohol) and created a Bingo game called REtOH, or Ride the Erie to OHio Trail.

Since there are several breweries and watering holes along the 326 mile route, they thought it might be fun to sample a smattering of the bevvie offerings. With a Free Space in the middle, 16 randomized and laminated Bingo cards that include 24 types of beer, we aim to score horizontal, vertical and/or four corner Bingos. The big question… will there be a cover all? And what should the prizes be?
